Our Story
I watched his cognition change. Slowly. Quietly. In the space between normal aging and something no one wanted to name.
I looked for help. Not a diagnosis. Just something our family could do. Something grounded in real science. Something that treated him like a person, not a problem waiting to happen.
That search came up empty.
The healthcare system is built for cognitive crisis. It has almost nothing for the months and years before that, when families are noticing changes and nobody knows what to do with what they see. The screening tools exist to catch late-stage decline. Nobody built the thing families need in the time before that.
So I built it.
Mentage makes cognitive wellness tools for older adults and the people who love them. Digital and physical. Grounded in research. Designed with the same respect you would want for your own mind.
"Because every family living in the pre-dementia years deserves a dignified place to start paying attention, long before anyone tells them they have to."
Jerin Zachariah
Founder, Mentage
What We Believe
Paying attention to how your mind works or how someone you love thinks, remembers, and engages deserves a dignified place in everyday life. Not after a diagnosis. Not in response to a crisis. Now, while it still feels like a choice.
The people we build for are not patients yet. They are adults and families who have noticed something and want to act, not react. They deserve tools that treat them with the same respect a good doctor would, without requiring a doctor's visit to access them.
We will not claim something we have not proven. If we do not have the data, we will tell you we do not have the data. If our studies have not been published, we will say that clearly. The fastest way to build trust is to never ask for it before we have earned it.
Everything we make, digital and physical, is designed for adult intelligence, adult dignity, and adult privacy. No childish games. No bright cartoon interfaces. No scores that create anxiety. Engagement tracked with respect, shared only by choice.

MEVA is currently in active clinical study with Piedmont HealthCare. We are collecting longitudinal session data under IRB protocol. Results are expected in 2027. We are not making clinical outcome claims until the study is complete.
The Connections Box is in development. It is a physical cognitive engagement kit for older adults. Task design is grounded in published Montessori-based aging research. It is not yet available for sale.
We will tell you when we are ready. Not before.
The Team

Jerin Zachariah
Founder & CEO
Jerin Zachariah brings over a decade of experience managing clinical research operations, regulatory compliance, and study design within demanding academic health systems. Drawing on his frontline experience as an EMT with the Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he witnessed the profound failure of a medical model built solely to respond to crises, he founded Mentage to build infrastructure for the space before a medical emergency. His work culminated in MEVA, a Montessori-inspired cognitive wellness platform that uses brief, hands-on, real-world activities to help older adults track their cognitive patterns over time in a dignified, non-clinical way. Today, he continues his advocacy for proactive, pre-crisis cognitive support as an active member of the Connecticut Alzheimer's and Dementia Coalition.

Jeff Joseph
Head of Technology and Product
Jeff brings 15+ years of experience leading global technology and operations through hypergrowth. At Indeed, he helped scale the company from roughly 1,000 to 19,000+ employees, owning technology operations and infrastructure across a large global portfolio spanning 20+ countries. He governed a substantial budget, led teams across multiple regions, and drove the kind of operational improvements that come from building systems and processes at scale. Today he runs ZConsult, advising clients on technology operations, infrastructure, and operating-model design for organizations working at a global scale. His career has spanned disciplines that don't always sit together: building and scaling teams, architecting infrastructure and systems, managing vendors and partners, and translating complex technical work into clear strategy. That range is what lets him keep Mentage's many moving parts aligned around a single goal: a conviction that the people who built a life and raised a family deserve to be seen and cared for as their needs change. At Mentage, Jeff brings that conviction to building meaningful products for caregivers, older adults, and the clinicians who walk alongside them.
